Eight Month Videos

You love zippers! In fact, when Daddy and I say the word "zipper," you point to them. You have even figured out how to unzip them. Daddy tried to catch you doing this yesterday, but you soon noticed the camera and lunged for it. Apparently, you are more fascinated with cameras than zippers.

He finally managed to sneak and record you in the middle of zipping. I love watching us spending time together. Little moments like this are so sweet. I savor them dearly.

Besides unzipping things, you are also enjoying kneeling. You like to balance up on your knees. It is so fun to watch you learn how to use your adorable little body in new ways.

This Week's New Firsts

Quinn, I know I need to backtrack and catch up on a few things that I have not documented, but today I want to make sure that I write about some recent firsts. This past weekend, you met Santa for the first time. Let's just say that you were not a fan of him this year. You immediately cried after being set on to his lap. Your little face was heartbreaking. You looked afraid. But I was there to hold you and comfort you. Look at your sweet little nose. It was still red from crying.

Below is a picture at home before visiting Santa. You were much happier at that point. Look at how darling you are! I can't believe that your first Christmas is almost here. I have dreamed of sharing holidays with a child and now it is finally coming true. I could not have imagined a better baby to spend my holidays with than you, dear Quinn.

Another recent first is that you have started to babble a lot. You say dada, gaga, nana and a few other fun little sounds. It literally happened overnight. You have actually been a pretty quiet baby overall. You are expressive and interactive, but you like to observe and take things in, too. But now you have decided it is time to become more vocal about things. I tried to capture it this morning, but unfortunately my camera was a distraction. But here is a short little clip before the camera ruined it:

When you learn how to do new things, it is magical for your daddy and me to witness. You are so special to us!

The Upside

Quinn, I am terribly behind! I have not posted your 8 month pictures yet. I have not talked about your latest developments. I have not posted pictures from your Aunt Laramie's visit, either. To be honest, you are going through a dreadful sleeping phase right now. Daddy and I are exhausted and are not sure how to help you sleep like you were last month. I hope that you will start sleeping a little better soon, so I have time to update this more often. Even though it has been challenging lately, I will say that your sleep difficulties do come with the upside of many tender, cuddly moments. I just captured the picture above. You are still upstairs sleeping on Daddy right now. He is loving it, as are you. It was special for me to peek in and see you sleeping so peacefully. I love my little family so much.
