More of Quinn in Action

We had a lot of fun together yesterday, Quinn. It was a beautiful fall day and we spent time outside. We often sit on a blanket together in the front yard in the afternoons. You are currently fascinated with cars passing by. Also, the front yard is dog-free, so I think it is a cleaner place for us to sit and play. I captured some delightful moments of you that I have to share. I really hope that you will read this blog one day when you are older. You will be able to see yourself grow and will hopefully see how much you brightened the lives of your parents.

Here is the first video. You look as if you are trying to figure out how to crawl! It is very exciting! At the end of the clip, you start to get frustrated. It must be so hard to learn these new skills. But I know you will soon figure it out.

In the second video, you are picking grass. You have really enjoying doing that lately. I love witnessing your wonder and joy as you explore the world. I am so lucky to be your mom!

5 Month Videos

Quinn, I am trying to post videos of you each month. Here are a few from this past month.

This is from earlier in the month, when you were learning to reach for things while sitting up. You can now get on all fours to reach for things...you have improved a lot!

Here is a clip of you playing with Daddy last night right before bathtime/bedtime. Of course, by the time I got the camera, you were tiring out and were no longer squealing and laughing. But I definitely captured the love between the two of you!

And here is a clip in which I finally capture a glimpse of your teeth! I have not been able to get a photo of them, since you usually smile with your tongue sticking out. I just noticed that you are wearing the same onesie in two of these videos. I promise you that you do wear more than this onesie. You look adorable no matter what you wear, though! Daddy and I are so in love with you, Quinn.

Latest Happenings

Quinn, you are developing so quickly right now! I am going to try to post a bunch of recent pictures before you wake up from your nap.

Even though we spend a lot of our days playing together, you are now able to sit up and play independently in your Pack N Play! Maybe this means I will finally be able to clean our house more often. I will need to once you start crawling, that is for sure!

Your fine motor skills are really improving. You can grasp small objects, transfer things from one hand to the other, rotate and flip over objects, and manipulate toys very well. I am amazed as I watch you make gains every day.

You love to suck your toes.

You are starting to hang out on your hands and knees when I place you on your tummy for tummy time. Right now you get frustrated when you see toys out of your reach. I can see that you want to move to get to them, but you can't quite figure out how. I know one day soon you will figure it out!

Your smile melts my heart every day. You are full of smiles, squeals, and noises.

You are a spunky, determined little girl. I adore you! Here you are hanging out in your pajamas that remind me of my dear grandmother, Helen. I swear she had a nightgown or a robe in a similar floral print. I think of her whenever you wear these.

Our Little Teether

Funny girl! You prefer to gnaw on this brush and your stroller tray rather than your multitude of sterile teething toys.

Happy Five Months, Quinn!

This past month has been a big one for you, little Quinn! You mastered sitting up unassisted and you cut your first two teeth. Below is a video of you on the day your teeth broke through. In the clip, you were a little fussy, but a foot and leg massage cheered you right up. You love massages! The second I rub lotion in my hands, you will stop crying and smile. Since you respond so well, part of your bedtime routine includes a massage. You seem to love it.

Here is a sad picture of you teething. It was hard for me to watch you in pain for a few days.

This was an active month for you! Here are some pictures of you in action. You prefer to play while upright. You like to sit and play, and have even enjoyed standing up while holding on to things. You need my help, but then you can balance on your own. It is so fun to see you do new things. I really enjoy my days at home with you. I feel so lucky that I have been able to take a break from working. I don't want to miss out on all the things you are learning to do.

Mommy hasn't had much time to update this blog because you have been waking up a lot lately! My goal is to post more pictures this month, though. You are so precious and I want to make sure to document these beautiful baby moments well. I am beginning to realize how quickly you are changing and how truly sacred this first year really is. I love you so much, Quinn!
